Information & Technology Director

The holding company for chemical industries is looking to hire “Information & Technology Director“, for one of its affiliates. The Information & Technology Director will participate in developing and supervising strategic plans and through the design, implementation and effective management of the technology system and digital transformation, which facilitates the work of all departments and supports decision-making through mechanisms, tools and an ideal reporting system.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and evaluate all technology operations (eg network security) according to established objectives
  • Develop and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies established by senior management
  • Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
  • Establish rules and standards, and oversee the procurement of technology equipment and software that are efficient, cost-effective, sustainable, harmonious and complementary.
  • Supervise the application of mechanisms to check the use of technological equipment and programs to ensure functionality and efficiency
  • Determine the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to senior management
  • Coordinate the work of IT managers and supervising teams of specialists, technicians and other professionals to provide the necessary guidance and support and ensure the achievement of the target
  • Set basic standards for dealing with suppliers in technical fields to ensure assistance in building relationships with suppliers, establishing cost-effective contracts and ensuring the best contractual terms
  • Supervise the design and implementation of digital transformation mechanisms in various sectors, and coordinate with various departments to build a system of dealing in vital sectors (marketing, sales, finance and other departments)
  • Review reports with the current financial costs associated with the IT department, analyzing these reports and proposing corrective and remedial actions that would reach the standard cost.
  • Assess risks for affiliated departments and managing them with supervision and setting preventive measures to avoid their occurrence or limit their effects.
  • Follow-up to evaluate the performance of the staff, raise the staff's performance and improve their practical efficiency to ensure the optimum workflow and the existence of an alternative to perform the various tasks

Employment Terms

  • Bachelor degree, preferably with specialized studies or diploma in the field of digital transformation and IT.
  • At least 10 years of experiences and proven working experience in IT
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff
  • Proficiency in English Language skills (spoken & written)
